Eva Star Malabanan, the 12 year old off-road racer from El Cajon, CA raced her way to a 3rd Place Finish in the U14 UTV class at the San Felipe Desert Mayhem race in Baja. This was Eva’s first official race in the 1000cc Polaris RZR that was built and previously raced by Jagged X Racing.
Although this was her first race in this vehicle, Eva is no stranger to racing and to winning. She has 2 years of racing experience under her belt with multiple podiums, wins, and more recently — a points championship! (Pro UTV 170cc)
You may be wondering; “How did Eva get into off-road racing?” Her roots in off-road racing lead back to her father, Sean Malabanan — a San Diego local, surfer, business man, fabricator, and racer who has many years of experience in the industry.
Sean Malabanan has participated and been a part of multiple race efforts over the years in top-tier competitions such as the SCORE World Desert Championship and has found great success with his career as a racer and fabricator.
He has passed on the love for off-road racing to his daughter Eva and she is well on her way to becoming one of the most dominant female off-road racers.
Eva aspires to one day be in the shoes of Kristen Matlock, the Polaris RZR, Fox Shocks, and Yokohama Tires sponsored athlete. With the support of her father Sean and the great companies on board with her such as Rugged Radios, we firmly believe that Eva Star Malabanan will be the next Kristen Matlock.
BikeBandit looks forward to seeing what the future holds for Eva, and we wish her the best of luck in her racing career! Keep it up Eva!
